Dorthy Tyo has many years of experience as a practicing hypnotherapist, as do the other instructors. Classes are usually offered both in the morning and in the evening. With regard to the classes themselves, they are smaller in size which really lends itself to a more individualized, as well as concentrated, learning environment and the students with which I attended class with were all very supportive & kind, which also made for a very conducive learning experience. If you would like to become certified in hypnotherapy, there couldn’t be a finer educational institution. The classes are informative, exciting, very interactive and healing for the student. The instructors have proven track records in the field and it shows. Their teaching style is welcoming as well as caring with a real desire to teach you the ins and outs of getting your clients the results they really want. I highly recommend their classes. They also offer great one day workshops, usually held on a Saturday, on relative topics that could expand and enhance your healing practice.

So, to that end, as a group, we are currently discussing how we can make this dream come true by working together. Of course, what we have learned about hypnosis will be a mainstay, with each of us bringing to the table what we consider to be our niche in the field.

After 10 years working in the medical field, I realized there must be an alternative to helping people without a prescription for another pill. I had experienced hypnotherapy once as a college student and the experience never left my mind. When I completed raising my two children, I decided I wanted a new career. My passion has been to contribute to people in a deep and life-changing way. I heard about the internationally known Palo Alto School of Hypnotherapy and researched it and a few other hypnotherapy schools. Nothing came close to PASH, the instructors and the quality of the classes I was interested in. My experience here has been a miracle. I have learned so much, made many new friends and have started to see my own clients. . I indulge myself often in getting a hypnosis session for myself. I know she has helped at least 4-5 other people I’ve referred to her. I will be sending her name & number to another friend/client who chews tobacco & needs to stop.
When I first went to Dorthy I had been smoking for almost 40 yrs. I had tried several times to quit, unfortunately it just didn’t take for me. Then I was referred to Dorthy. I am embarrassed to say this but I stood in front of her place & smoked a cigarette just before I went in…and that is the last one I ever smoked —January 17, 2005! I never have had an urge, craving and best of all I didn’t gain any weight!!!
She is such a wonderful person, and then add to that her desire to help people like me with a horrendous addiction or even worse problems. I cannot recommend her highly enough, she is truly a miracle worker. I could go on & on, but suffice it to say she has an incredible gift that she is willing to share for the benefit of others. It doesn’t get much better that that.

I became interested in learning hypnotherapy because I thought it would be a valuable adjunct to my psychotherapy practice, and indeed it has been. In doing my research about where to get training, the Palo Alto School of Hypnotherapy kept emerging as having the best and most rigorous program. After completing the initial 12-week class, I continued to study with Josie and all the other excellent teachers and completed the Master’s program and every class in between. I continue to use hypnotherapy in addition to psychotherapy in my private practice and I find it has helped my clients achieve the results they want effectively and quickly. When I was searching for office space some years ago, I found a small office that felt just right to me.
